Theories of Psychotherapy

My Counseling Philosophy
What is your view of human nature? A theory is a set of beliefs that assists a counselor in conceptualizing clients and their problems. A counselor chooses a theory that aligns with his or her view of human nature. Theories provide a framework of therapy and assists a counselor in setting goals for clients to help them with a resolution to a problem. Theories also provide specific techniques that can be used to assist the therapeutic process.

Want to learn more about a specific theory?

Below are PPTs I created for each of the major theories. They provide a broad overview of the theory, view of human nature, major tenants, how the theory is used to create change, areas of application, and multicultural perspective.
